Paisley
School Board selects Paul T. Hauder as next Superintendent/Principal
Completing
its search for a new Superintendent/Principal, the Paisley School
District Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Paul
T. Hauder has been
selected as the district's next Superintendent/Principal effective on
July 1, 2017. Current Superintendent Bill Wurtz will be completing
his term on June 30, 2017. Hauder and the Board are working on the
terms of a tentative agreement which will be finalized at a public
meeting in the near future.
“We
were very excited to have an excellent field of 27 candidates for the
Superintendent/Principal position. With the assistance of a staff,
parent and community member interview team, we interviewed several
candidates and the field was narrowed to four finalists. We
reference checked and invited the final four candidates back to the
district for a second round of interviews,” Board Chair Ross
Colahan said. “We like all four finalists, but Paul Hauder emerged
as the right fit for our district. “
Hauder
has been a school site administrator in the Elk Grove Unified School
District in Elk Grove, CA since 1997. He has served the district as
Principal in two different elementary schools and a Vice Principal in
a third one during that time. For 16 years Hauder was on the adjunct
faculty at California State University – San Francisco where he
taught teacher preparation courses for the Teacher Education
Institute. His K-12 teaching experience includes 11 years as a math
and science teacher in the Elk Grove USD. Hauder has a Master of
Science in Educational Leadership from National University and a
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism from California
State University – Chico.
“I
believe that incredible things can happen in a school where students
are challenged, they have choices about their education and they get
feedback to correct the course of their choices.” Hauder said.
“For this to happen, we need teachers willing to take risks and put
the energy and enthusiasm into their work to let the kids know how
important their education is. I’m excited to begin this journey in
Paisley.”
